CAISSA Chess Online: A New Home for Playing Chess
CAISSA Online brings the board, game search, direct challenges, and community lobby together in one native playing room, with more still to come.

Online chess is more memorable when the board belongs to a place: somewhere you can recognize other players, choose the kind of game you want, and return for another challenge. CAISSA Chess Online is our native playing room for that experience, bringing human-versus-human chess and a growing community lobby into CAISSA itself.
The page is live, but this is still an early chapter. The current public release supports the core path to a casual game for signed-in players, while several visible community ideas remain marked for future seasons. This preview separates what you can use now from what we are working toward next.
A Board-First Room for Human Chess
Choose a clock, find an opponent, and stay close to the game
CAISSA Online opens around a full playing board and a focused game setup. Signed-in players can choose common bullet, blitz, and rapid controls or create a custom clock, then enter the search for an opponent. The current service is configured for casual play; rated games are not enabled, and the page does not present these results as an official classification system.
The route is available at caissa-chess.org/online and also appears under Play & Compete in the main navigation. A CAISSA account is currently required to play. Although the interface explains a future guest option, guest play is not enabled in the public configuration today, so visitors should sign in before trying to find an opponent or send a challenge.
Find a Game or Challenge Someone in the Lobby
The main setup lets you search for a game using the selected time control. The Lobby adds a more social route: its Players area shows available community members, while Tables / Offers is designed for open game offers. Direct challenges let one player invite another instead of relying only on the general search queue.
That combination is central to the experience we want to build. Quick search helps when you simply want a game, while the lobby leaves room for recognizable names and intentional invitations. Presence and availability can change from moment to moment, so an empty list does not mean the page is a demonstration; it means the room is waiting for active players.
Controls During and After the Game
During a game, CAISSA verifies legal moves, clocks, and results on the server. The playing room provides the essential controls to resign and offer or respond to a draw. If the connection is interrupted, the experience is designed to reconnect to the active game rather than treating every temporary interruption as a new board.
When the game ends, you can request a rematch or look for a new opponent. You can also download the PGN or continue to CAISSA's analysis area to review what happened. These tools keep the natural sequence together: play first, preserve the score, then study the decisions that mattered. Live spectating, chat, daily games, and multiboard views are not enabled in this release.
What Is Available Now
The clearest way to approach the current release is as an active foundation. The page and lobby are publicly reachable, account-based matchmaking is enabled, time controls can be selected, and casual games and direct challenges are part of the verified product. The interface also labels unreleased areas instead of presenting them as finished services.
To try the available flow, sign in to CAISSA, open Online from Play & Compete, select a clock, and start the search. You can also visit the Lobby to see players and offers. Availability depends on other people being present, so inviting another CAISSA player is a practical way to explore a friendly game together.
- Sign in to your CAISSA account.
- Open CAISSA Chess Online from Play & Compete.
- Choose a preset or custom time control.
- Start a game search or challenge an available player in the Lobby.
- After the game, choose a rematch, download the PGN, or continue to analysis.
The Community We Want to Grow
The Lobby includes a Tournaments area, but tournaments are not active yet. The visible tournament presentation is explicitly a visual demonstration with synthetic data, not an operating competition or registration page. We will not announce dates, entries, standings, or prizes until a real tournament service is enabled and ready for players.
Among our next goals is to organize tournaments every weekend so the community can meet, compete, and enjoy chess. That intention gives the project a direction without turning a future objective into a promise about today's product. For now, visit CAISSA Chess Online, sign in, and help the playing room grow one casual game and one familiar opponent at a time.
